If you're craving a fun, delicious, and unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Shima Restaurant! I recently had the pleasure of dining at their Teppan Grill with a big group, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth sharing. Shima is a Japanese restaurant offering everything from Teppan Grill to a fantastic sushi bar. Though many in our group were regulars, a few of us were first-timers, and every single one of us was blown away by the food and the atmosphere. It reminded me of the famous Benihana, but with a more affordable and, honestly, just as delicious, if not more so! I opted for the Filet Mignon with fried rice, grilled vegetables, miso soup, and a refreshing salad. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor, while the rice and veggies were equally fresh and flavorful. Each dish was expertly prepared, and you could taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. What really stood out, though, was the experience itself. The chef cooking right at our table, flipping shrimp and rice bowls, creating fiery volcanoes of onion rings, and entertaining us while making the meal, was a highlight for everyone. It's that perfect blend of delicious food and an interactive, fun dining experience that makes Shima stand out. I've already shared my experience with friends, and I'll definitely be back. Whether you're a Teppan Grill enthusiast or a sushi lover, Shima offers something for everyone. Highly recommend it if you're in or near one of their locations (Huntington Beach and Chino). You won't be disappointed!

The food and show was great. Once the chef was done, you kinda get rushed to hurry up eating so they can sit the next party. You do need a reservation to secure a seat. Especially on a Valentine's evening. I would go back again on a non holiday.

THE DANKKKKKK. Stop and check your judgments at the door. Don't be fooled by this hole in the wall restaurant in the heart of a random shopping plaza with outdated decor and wall to wall action. If I followed my brain instead of my gut, I wouldn't be writing this review. This restaurant is FIREEEEE. Straight up authentic. We spoke to couples at our table who had been going for 15+ years to this same spot. Chefs are hilarious and accommodating. Food is delicious. Sauces are TDF. Sushi app + hibachi dinner + green tea ice cream dessert = LIFE!!!

Shima is a family run restaurant that needs to do well. I have to admit how much I love Teppanyaki. It all started living in Taiwan where it is very common and inexpensive. The restaurant is not very big but clean. The tables are not crowded together like other places. The waiter came to us after some time waiting. We ordered and our chef came. Our chef was a young guy who rattled of some slick moves with his spatula. The food was just a tad salty for me. The beef was cooked nice, and so was the shrimp. The chicken was over cooked and tasted dry. The vegetables were served last? Our whole experience was good, not great.
